For 13 years, Watford Cycle Hub has been helping our community get cycling and stay cycling — from 3,000+ children learning to ride, to 200+ adults gaining confidence, 1,050 free social rides, 10,000+ bike repairs, 1,800+ bikes upcycled, and 536 Trishaw rides for older residents.
As we look toward April 2026, founders Kate and Fiona will be stepping into retirement/semi-retirement, and the Cycle Hub will begin its transition to new leadership.
Kate’s journey with the Cycle Hub began at a crossroads in her own life — a moment where she chose to turn uncertainty into possibility. Her passion for cycling, environmental convictions, love of community and desire to “make a difference” crystallised into what we now know as the Cycle Hub.
Fiona’s unwavering support and shared commitment carried that dream from an idea on paper into a thriving, award-winning community asset.
For them both, the Cycle Hub represents 13 years of heart, graft, resilience and purpose.
Stepping back now definitely isn’t about leaving — it’s about passing forward something precious, something we’ve poured ourselves into, with enormous pride in the journey so far.
The Cycle Hub is not closing.
Everything continues as normal — repairs, servicing, training, social rides, café and more.
This transition is about continuity, sustainability and growth, building on strong foundations and a trusted reputation.
If you, or someone you know might be interested in taking the Cycle hub forward and leading it into it’s next chapter, we would genuinely love to hear from you.
Often the best custodians come from people that have experienced, understand and love what the place stands for!
We’ll share updates here over the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kate & Fiona
