The first session will be Bikeability level 1, in a traffic free situation where we ensure participants have the skills needed to go on the road. To take part in Bikeability level 1 riders must able able to pedal. The following sessions take place on local quiet roads, looking at how to move in traffic, negotiate parked cars, side roads and junctions. Starting from Watford Cycle Hub, The Pavilion, Chaffinch Lane, WD18 9QD.
For the road sessions the ratio is two instructors to a maximum of 10 trainees.
The course will be led by National Standards Bikeability Instructors who work for Herts County Cycle Training Team, who continually assess the students. At the end of the week those candidates who have achieved the National Standard will be awarded a Bikeability level 2 certificate and badge.

There is a maximum of 10 places available for each of the courses. In the event of a course being under-subscribed every effort will be made to still run the course though we reserve the right to reduce the number of days and/or times as necessary.
All participants must be in Year 5 or above at school and have a roadworthy bike and helmet for the course so it is advisable to check the bikes in advance. We offer a free bike assessment and on production of the assessment sheet a 10% discount will be given for any work needed.
